It's pretty hot for most of the year, so t-shirts and shorts are essential (though shorts are not permitted in temples). Rain gear is not essential during rainy season, but can come in handy if you are caught out. Mosquito repellent and sunscreen are widely available (though the latter can be a bit expensive). Much of the clothing you need you can buy for very cheap prices while traveling.
